The LAST OUTPOURING

The LAST OUTPOURING
by David Wilkerson

I know some will not receive what I am about to say, yet many will.
I do not believe we have yet seen the glory and fullness of the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit as prophesied by Joel. What we have
seen are just a few sprinkles! Yes, we have had a worldwide
charismatic renewal and love has brought many together. It has
been an experience shared worldwide, yet it is just a foretaste.

God will permit nothing to hinder what he plans to do. The enemy
is in for a surprise. Just as it appears the church will be inundated
by a satanic flood, the Spirit will raise up a standard. Understand
what that standard is, and you will understand what God is about
to do. The standard is a holy people, pure, undefiled, delivered
from the corruption that is in the world. That standard is a new
breed of sanctified Christians, who will shine forth as lights in the
midst of a wicked and perverse generation. It will not be just a
renewal of love and praise, but a restoration of holiness unto the Lord!

There will still be shouting and praise, but it will be the shout of
victory over sin and compromise, fulfilling the purpose of the last
outpouring: "That all who call on his name shall be delivered..."
(Joel 2:32). Delivered from what? From sin! From the spirit of the world!

We will not have had the fullness of the Spirit´s outpouring until
baptized people separate themselves completely from the world.
We must emphasize separation and purity of heart. The purpose
of the Spirit´s coming is to sanctify and prepare a people for the
Lord´s return, a people without spot or wrinkle.

When the fullness of the Spirit´s outpouring comes upon all flesh,
conviction for sin will be everywhere. "He will convict the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment" (John 16:8). That is
the outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Tragically, too many speak with tongues, but then live like the devil.
Sin was never uprooted and all they received was an experience of
ecstasy. God blessed them just enough to call them into a deeper
life of holiness and submission, but they stopped and went about
saying, "I´ve got the Holy Ghost."

Oh, there is so much more! I thank God for the privilege of praying
in an unknown tongue; it is my way of releasing all the pent-up
praises to God in a communication beyond my understanding. But
you can speak with the tongues of men and even angels, and
without charity, you have received nothing. But I say it goes even
deeper. You are not truly baptized with the Holy Spirit until every
hidden part of your soul has been exposed-and every sin
confessed and forsaken.

A NEW WORLD is COMING

A NEW WORLD is COMING
by David Wilkerson

The Bible says that in the last days scoffers will appear, mocking
the message that Jesus Christ is going to return to set up a new
kingdom. Mockers are saying, "Where is Jesus? I don't see any
evidence that He is coming. Everything continues as it has from
the beginning!"

If you were to try to convince these scoffers that Jesus is coming
to purge the earth with fire and set up a kingdom of eternal right-
eousness, they would call you insane. Many ridicule the very idea
of a second coming of Christ. Yet, without batting an eye, these
same mockers turn around and claim that a "new world order" is coming!

Such scoffers have bought into a lie from hell. Satan always
manufactures a counterfeit just before the real thing comes. You
see, he knows King Jesus is about to return and that His new
world is at the door. The devil wants to keep his own children
deceived by promoting a fantasy world, with every false hope.
So now he has concocted a new, demonic doctrine of a coming
New Age to keep people from accepting the reality of the coming Christ!

This most recent New Age counterfeit first appeared as the Age
of Aquarius. The eleventh constellation was to move into a final,
New Age kingdom, which would be known as the "new world order."

New Agers say this new world order is just about to dawn. They
predict a catastrophic calamity will occur and a new world order
will arise out of the chaos, ushering in a society of love, under-
standing and world peace. All diseases will be cured. Wars will
cease. Poverty will be no more. And the only Christ that will exist
will be a Christ-consciousness-a worldwide mindset of brother-
hood. Self-love will be king, and pleasure will be the focus of all.

I have bad news for all such New Age scoffers. I am sorry but
you have been hoodwinked by the devil. There is no such thing
as the fantasy world he is pushing on humankind in these last days.

Oh, there is a new world coming, all right, but it isn't a "new world
order" or a New Age. Rather, every kingdom of this world is soon
to become our Lord's and all His enemies will become His footstool.
Christ is coming back to establish His holy kingdom, and scoffers
will not have any part in it: "Nevertheless we, according to his
promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness" (2 Peter 3:13).

JOHN WESLEY - Revivalist!

JOHN WESLEY - Revivalist!
by David Smithers

On March 9th, 1791, when John Wesley was carried to his grave,
he left behind him a good library of books, a well-worn clergyman's
gown, and a much abused reputation. But also, an England moved
to the very depths and a Church thrilled through and through with
an awakened spiritual life. John Wesley was a man who truly
possessed both apostolic vision and gifts, but most importantly
he was a man who lived in view of eternity. "Consumed by the
thought of the shortness of time, the great work to be done, and
the need for haste in doing it, on he marched, preaching, pleading,
warning and guiding . . ."

John Wesley was a man mighty in faith and prayer. Time and
again people possessed with devils were brought to him and in
answer to prayer the demons were cast out. Not only were evil
spirits cast out, but the sick were healed as well. As Wesley
preached, the power of God often came upon his listeners, and
hundreds would fall under the power of the Holy Spirit. Then, in
answer, to prayer their souls and bodies were healed. A physician
became offended at the cries of many who fell under the power of
God. He attended Wesley's meeting and a lady he knew fell under
the power. "Great drops of sweat ran down her face, and all her
bones shook. But when both her soul and body were healed in a
moment he acknowledged the finger of God." On another occasion
when Wesley was traveling the preaching circuit, his horse
suddenly became lame. With no one near to offer help, he stopped
and prayed. "Immediately the horse's lameness was gone."

Wesley pleaded with men to repent and by faith make peace with
God or suffer in an everlasting hell. People who had entertained
false hopes of salvation had their religious masks torn away by his
plain preaching. Wesley believed that those who failed to warn the
sinner and backslider, themselves stood under the judgement of
Christ. He was determined to declare the whole counsel of God,
offering the love of God in Christ and giving warning of the dreadful
consequences of rejecting the gospel. Wesley wrote, "Before I
can preach love and grace, I must preach sin, law and judgement."

John Wesley, as well as the other early Methodist preachers, was
both a bold advocate and a living example of sanctification. Wesley
preached with unceasing zeal that complete holiness was the
primary fruit of a vibrant faith in Christ. Counseling another minister,
Wesley wrote, ". . .till you press believers to expect full salvation
from sin, you must not look for any revival."

If John Wesley were to make an anonymous visit to the Methodists
of today, it is doubtful whether many of it's churches would welcome
him. They would most likely resent his fervent zeal and enthusiasm.
When he was eighty-three he made a note that he was regretful
that he could not write more than fifteen hours a day without hurting
his eyes. Wesley faithfully preached almost up to the very day he
died. Truly his vigor and zeal in old age were the reward of his
faithful stewardship of time. He seemed to consider every thought,
word and deed in light of eternity.

"Amid all his arduous labors, his innumerable engagements, his
coming and going, Wesley lived a hidden life of intimacy with God.
When worn out with overwork he often found new strength in answer
to prayer." It was Wesley's strict habit to daily spend one hour in
prayer in the morning, and then another hour in the evening. John
Wesley shook the world by his preaching because he first shook
heaven and hell with his praying. His preaching had a sense of
eternal urgency because he had touched eternity on his knees.

EMERGENCY PLANS for CRISIS!

EMERGENCY PLANS for CRISIS!
by David Wilkerson

No matter how unsettled the world becomes, God's people can
relax and keep their joy flowing, because our Lord has promised
special protection when it is most needed.

Didn't God have an emergency plan for the children of Israel during
the worldwide famine? He sent Joseph ahead to Egypt and
promoted him to prime minister. He filled the warehouses with
enough grain to last out the raging famine and then transported
his people within walking distance of those storehouses and fed
them to the full.

Didn't God have emergency plans for Elijah? While his nation
reeled under the impact of an economic collapse and food was
scarce because of severe famine-and a wicked king had a ransom
on his head-God put His emergency plan for Elijah into effect. He
hid him by a quiet brook and fed him by having a bird deliver his
food. The survival plan also included a mysterious barrel of grain
that never ran out.

What about Noah? What a detailed survival plan God had for him
and his family-an ark that floated him and his family safely above
all the death and destruction of a worldwide flood!

And Lot? God actually sent angels to personally pull him and his
children out of the doomed city of Sodom. God's hands were tied
until Lot was safely out of the suburbs. It was more than a loss
of his job, more than a collapse of the economy, more than a
downfall of the government. It was total annihilation of his society-
but Lot was delivered safely.

Paul proved God's emergency contingencies over and again. This
apostle was shipwrecked, chased by thieves, imprisoned,
accused of treason, plotted against by assassins and yet, in every
crisis, God had a contingency plan for deliverance.

We, too, have an emergency plan for survival-designed specifically
for each believer.

Let there be no question about it. God will see us through every
crisis. No crisis Satan can throw against the children of God can
bring them down. Not depression, not famine, not a job loss, not
sickness or suffering of any kind. God will deliver His children
and there is not one single reason to fear. "Take therefore no
thought [do not be anxious] for the morrow" (Matthew 6:34).

The COMING SPIRITUAL TSUNAMI in THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

The COMING SPIRITUAL TSUNAMI in THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
by J. Lee Grady

I believe God showed me He is sending a wave of His Spirit to
bring reformation.

More than 10 years ago, I had the most vivid dream I´ve ever
experienced. I told my wife about it the moment I woke up because
it was so profound. The scenes are still etched in my memory.

I dreamed I was standing inside the Vatican. Keep in mind that
I´ve never been a Catholic, and I´ve never visited Italy. But in my
dream, I was in an ornate hall decorated with marble columns
and a fancy paved floor. I walked over to a huge, arched window
where I could see a panoramic view of Vatican City.

Suddenly a huge wave appeared on the horizon. A tsunami was
coming. The wave got closer and closer, but I did not feel panic,
even though I could hear people running and yelling as they
prepared for the impact. I stood near a wall and braced myself.

When the wave hit, the palatial building began creaking and tilting.
Antique tables, chairs, candelabra and statues began sliding to
one side as the floor moved. Chandeliers were hanging at odd
angles. Within minutes the floor was perpendicular to the ground
and more furniture came crashing down. The movement continued
until the floor became the ceiling. More religious icons, statues
and paintings fell and broke into pieces.

In my dream, I did not feel anxious about this catastrophe. Nor did
I ask the obvious questions: How could a tsunami reach that far
inland since the Vatican is almost 20 miles from the Mediterranean
coast? How could a tsunami turn a huge building upside down?
And why was there no water anywhere? I knew in my dream that
what I had witnessed was a spiritual event.

At that point I heard a commotion at the other end of the hall.
When I got close enough, I discovered a group of Catholic nuns
and priests who were praying in the Holy Spirit. They had their
hands raised and they were worshiping God fervently, as if they
had experienced another Pentecost.

The atmosphere was spiritually charged. Yet, as these people
prayed, a man dressed in ornate religious garb began to shout
angrily at them in Italian. He was obviously not happy with the
way these Catholics were behaving. This upset me, and I began
to rebuke him. I was speaking in my prayer language, so I didn´t
know what I was saying. But I knew God was rebuking the leaders
who were opposing His work.

At that point, I woke up. And I felt the Holy Spirit say to me: "I
am going to turn the Catholic Church upside down."

I don´t believe all dreams are from God. Sometimes our brains
just think in Technicolor while we sleep. Other times a dream is
simply a crazy subconscious reaction to the pepperoni pizza
we ate before bedtime. But in this case, I have come to believe
God was showing me something big that He plans to do in my lifetime.

Pope John Paul II was still in office when I had this dream. Pope
Benedict has since come and gone, and this week, cardinals are
electing a new leader-at a time when the world´s 1.2 billion
Catholics have been reeling from reports of child abuse and sex
scandals among clergy.

I believe a great shaking is coming to the Catholic system, and it
will have both positive and negative impact. God is not pleased
with man-made religious structures (in any denomination) that
hinder people from knowing Him, and He is serious when He asks
us to tear down the idols we have created to take His place. In
the end, God always judges idolatry.

On the flip side, He also cares about the millions of people in the
Catholic Church who call upon the name of Jesus and who desire
His presence. For them, the coming wave of God´s power will
unleash a new hunger for the Holy Spirit and God´s unadulterated
Word. As corruption is exposed and structures are shaken, I
expect to see Catholics around the world experience a 21st-
century reformation movement. Traditionalists will fight it, of course,
but dead religion is powerless when faced with genuine spiritual
awakening. Young reformers from various nations will challenge
the system and say, like Moses said to Pharaoh, "Let My people
go" (Ex. 5:1).

I know there are many of my evangelical brothers who have written
off Catholics as heretics, and they leave no room for redemption
or reformation. They´d rather see the whole system crash and burn.
Perhaps they forgot that we have our own idols, sex scandals and
institutional corruption, and that we need a spiritual tsunami to
turn us upside down as well. I´m bracing myself as I pray. Send
the wave, Lord.

THE MARK OF a MATURE BELIEVER

THE MARK OF a MATURE BELIEVER
by David Wilkerson

The mark of a mature believer is a refusal to be "tossed to and fro
... with every wind of doctrine" (Ephesians 4:14). Such believers
cannot be manipulated by any teacher. They do not need to run
around, because they are feasting in green pastures, growing up
in Christ. They have learned Christ. They will not be captivated
by music, friends, personalities or miracles, but by a hunger for
the pure Word.

Paul said, "That they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior
in all things" (Titus 2:10). What is Christ's doctrine? The grace
of God teaches us that "denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present
world (Titus 2:11-12). The doctrine of Christ will conform you
to the image of Christ. It will expose every hidden sin and every
evil longing.

Is your teacher rebuking with authority, speaking and exhorting
you to forsake sin and lay down all idols as instructed in Titus 2?
Are you learning to hate sin passionately? Or do you leave church,
still not deeply convicted? The message of the doctrine of Christ
is, "Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God" (2 Corinthians 7:1).

Many write to us saying that their pastors tell them, "I'm not here
to preach against sin; I'm here to lift up Jesus." Or, "You´ll hear
none of that condemnation preaching from this pulpit! I'm here to
lift the fear and depression off my people." Even Pentecostal
preachers have two extremes. Some scream a hard, legalistic
gospel without love, merely of works; others preach against sin
like cowards, taking it all back in the same message.

The doctrine of Christ is a doctrine of godliness and holiness. "If
any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words,
even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which
is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting
about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife,
railings, evil surmisings" (1 Timothy 6:3-4).

The preaching of Christ's doctrine will bless, strengthen and
encourage you, but it will also convict you so deeply you cannot
sit under it and still cling to a secret sin.

WE'VE LOST the GOSPEL

WE'VE LOST the GOSPEL
by Andrew Strom

There is no tragedy in the world worse than this - the church losing
the gospel. We could have a hundred terrorist attacks, or earth-
quakes, or hurricanes, and it would still not outweigh the tragedy
of this one thing - WE HAVE LOST THE GOSPEL. Nothing can
compare to this disaster - nothing.

For when you lose the gospel, you lose salvation. People are
actually no longer becoming saved. (Remember, Paul said that
the gospel is the "POWER OF GOD unto salvation"). And when
people are no longer truly becoming saved, you also lose the
church. For no true gospel = no true church.

People will tell me that I am being too "drastic". Well, I want to
say to you that I am not being drastic enough. In fact, if I were to
shout through 1000 megaphones directly into your ears, it would
not be possible for me to overemphasize just how disastrous and
awful and horrific it is that our backslidden Western church today
has - to all intents and purposes - lost its gospel. And in doing
so it has lost its very reason for being.

We tell everybody that all they need to do is say a little rote
prayer accepting Jesus as their "personal savior". Tell me,
where is such a thing in Scripture? Does such a thing even
come close to existing? Can you recall even ONE person doing
such a thing to become a Christian in the Bible? Did any of the
Apostles in Acts ever say to someone, "Just repeat this little
prayer after me"? Or "Quietly slip up your hand - no need for
anyone to see"? Can you remember ANYONE in Scripture doing
anything like that?

No, you can´t. That is because nobody ever did. It is all a modern
fabrication - a complete invention. -This is no salvation at all. We
act like people can safely forget about CONVICTION of sin and
DEEP REPENTANCE and WATER-BAPTISM and getting FILLED
with the Holy Spirit. -Just "optional extras", eh? But look at `Acts´
and tell me - was there ever such a thing as real Christianity
without these things? And what about getting a CLEAN CONSCIENCE
(-washed in the blood) and KEEPING IT CLEAN? Are we ever told
how to walk in THAT today?? -To actually "walk" in the washing of
the blood of Jesus? To be clean, to be utterly "Clean", to be EVERY
WHIT CLEAN?? (-The most important thing in the world). Where
is this in our gospel? Where is the transformed life? Where is the
"FREEDOM" from sin?

We have lost it all. Our people very rarely repent. They often go
for years without baptism (-meaning, according to Romans 6, that
their "old man" is not yet dead - and so they simply cannot live a
new life in Christ). Read Romans 6 sometime and ask yourself
this question- "If I have not been baptized, then is my old life
"buried" with Christ or not? Is my `old man´ dead or not?" -This
is why the apostles always baptized people RIGHT AWAY.

And then we often fail to get people `FILLED´ with the Spirit straight
away too - let alone "walking" in the Spirit. Tell me, how are we
supposed to have `HOLINESS´ if we have not even been filled with
the "HOLY" Spirit? Why do you think that the apostles always
made sure that people became Spirit-filled RIGHT AWAY??

Most of us do not even preach "Day One" Christianity as it was in
the Bible. We have lost the gospel and we don´t even know it. We
have invented a gospel of `convenience´, a gospel without the cross,
a gospel without holiness or the power to live a Christian life. -A
gospel that shows no-one how to get a CLEAN CONSCIENCE or
how to WALK IN IT. I want to say to you that such a gospel is NO
GOSPEL AT ALL. And we should be ashamed of ourselves for
preaching such a travesty.

No wonder today´s church is lukewarm! The gospel is the building
block upon which everything else is built. Without it we have
nothing - literally nothing. It affects all that we do and all that we
are. To lose it is simply the worst disaster imaginable. So how
on earth can we get it back?

Well, we have spoken about "Revival" many times on this site.
But what a lot of people don´t realize is that the `RETURN OF THE
GOSPEL´ was often the key that brought about the Great Awaken-
ings - the GOSPEL being restored and preached in power. The
longest-lasting Revivals always involved the "RETURN OF THE
GOSPEL". That is precisely what was happening with the
preaching of Wesley, Finney, Whitefield, etc. And it has to
happen again today!

So "Revival" to me is far more than just a fleeting visitation. It is to
be the long-lasting restoration of the true gospel - and thus the
true church also. If we want true Christianity restored today, we
must first see THE GOSPEL restored. It is the most important
key to it all. O God, send such a Revival!  BRING BACK THE
GOSPEL and those who will PREACH IT!  O God, we cry out to
you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
